- Best HPC Server Product or Technology went to SGI Altix ICE 8200, a space-efficient, energy-smart integrated blade platform based on Intel Xeon processors.
- Best HPC Visualization Product or Technology went to Silicon Graphics RemoteVUE software, which allows organizations to deliver visual information to any user, on any device, anywhere in the world.

PBWC Pacesetter Awards
For the third year in a row, the Professional BusinessWomen of California (PBWC) has selected SGI to receive the 2005 PBWC Pacesetter Award, which honors the top 14 San Francisco Bay Area companies that embody the mission of PBWC and that work to advance women on an ongoing basis.
The PBWC Pacesetter Award winners were selected from 53 of the largest public companies from nine Bay Area counties that promote women into the highest ranks of their organizations and encourage women to take leadership roles on an ongoing basis.
State Senator Jackie Speier, founder of PBWC, presented the 2005 Pacesetter Awards during the keynote luncheon at the 16th Annual PBWC Conference on May 3, at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.

Silicon Valley YWCA
TWIN Awards
Silicon Valley YWCA, has, for the fifth consecutive year, selected SGI employees as recipients. The SGI TWIN award winners are finance director Tracy Hanson and marketing director Susan Tellep.
Forty-four outstanding women from Silicon Valley were honored by the YWCA of Silicon Valley, at the 21st Annual Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Awards Program at the San Jose Fairmont. The 2005 TWIN Honorees reflect top leadership in their companies. Selection criteria include having senior-level functional management responsibility, possessing outstanding leadership qualities and serving as a successful role model for other women transitioning into executive positions. The YWCA of Silicon Valley's TWIN Awards Program honors not only women who demonstrate excellence, but also the companies that employ these women.

HR Innovators Award
SGI's human resources global benefits manager Ginny Schimmel has received the 2005 HR Innovators Award
Ginny Schimmel, SGI's human resources global benefits manager, has received the 2005 HR Innovators Award, which was presented at the 19th annual HR Symposium on May 11, in Santa Clara, Calif. This Innovators Award recognizes professionals who have championed an innovative Human Resource program, idea or system that has produced positive, fundamental change; or, whose ideals have lead to a major business impact within their organization.
SGI nominated Schimmel for this award based on her work in leading the Wellness Connection task force, an interdisciplinary "grass roots" team of Human Resources and Facilities & Services employees.

INPUT Federal IT 150 List
Silicon Graphics will be honored on May 11, 2005, in Reston VA, for ranking 106 on this year's INPUT Federal IT 150 list. This marks SGI as one of the top information technology contractors/companies in the federal market based on fiscal year 2004 IT contract spending.

2004 SGI Awarded U.S. Department of Commerce Export Achievement Certificate The United States Department of Commerce (DOC) has recognized Silicon Graphics for its outstanding export market expansion by awarding the company the DOC Export Achievement Certificate. The award was presented in a ceremony held in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the site of SGI's global manufacturing facility on October 25, 2004. The company has been given the award as an example of how U.S. firms can "in-source" their high-value manufacturing and successfully compete throughout the world while manufacturing their products solely in the United States.
2004 Professional BusinessWomen of California, Pacesetter Award
The Professional BusinessWomen of California recently awarded SGI a Pacesetter Award for their continuing efforts to encourage women in their pursuit of leadership roles. The PBWC is an organization whose mission is to inspire women to pursue their personal and professional dreams and goals. Each year the PBWC recognizes 25 Bay Area companies who embody that spirit with the Pacesetter Award.
This is the second year the PBWC has given out the award, and the second consecutive year SGI has been honored. Jackie McNab, PBWC President said, "We congratulate SGI for their continued advancement and support of women in key leadership roles." SGI was one of the top 25 companies selected out of 57 of the largest public companies in the Bay Area. Among speakers at the award ceremony was SGI's Kathy Lanterman, vice president and corporate controller, as well as winner of a 2003 YWCA TWIN award. Kathy Lanterman accepted the Pacesetter award on behalf of SGI.
SGI ranked 39th in "The Silicon Valley 150"
The San Jose Mercury News (April 14, 2003) ranked SGI as number 39 in "The Silicon Valley 150," a highly prestigious annual ranking of the area's top 150 companies. In order to qualify for the top 150, according to the Valley's most influential newspaper, a company needed sales of $94.8 million over the last four quarters.
While sales are certainly an indicator of a company's financial strength and growth, SGI has proved influential not only locally, but also nationally and globally.
SGI ranked 34th in FORTUNE magazine's annual survey of "Top 100 Companies To Work For"
In FORTUNE's January 20, 2003, cover story, the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco, which created and compiles the annual list, considered more than 1,000 firms. They narrowed the list down and then surveyed a random sample of employees from 269 candidate companies to get their opinions about their workplaces. The survey questions covered everything from benefits, pay, diversity, perks, opportunities, and training to volunteer programs and community involvement. More than 200 SGI employees answered the Web-based survey, catapulting SGI into the 34th slot--tops for a computer vendor.
Executive Director's Program Development Award from Northern California Supplier Development Council
SGI also received the special NCSDC Executive Director's Program Development Award in recognition of the outstanding success of its Supplier Diversity Program. Brad Erickson, the executive director of the NCSDC, presented SGI with this award for the exceptional progress SGI has made in purchasing from small disadvantaged businesses and for demonstrating increased support of the program by all levels of management at SGI.
VARBusiness Awards Five-Star Rating to SGI's Solution Provider Program
VARBusiness Partner Program SGI was recognized by VARBusiness magazine as one of North America's top vendors by virtue of the support it provides to the value-added resellers (VARs) of its products. SGI garnered the magazine's coveted five-star rating, the highest possible, for the third consecutive year. Read by solution providers throughout the United States, the VARBusiness "Tenth Annual Partner Programs Guide 2004" recognized the SGI Channel Program with five-star ratings in four distinct categories: systems, storage, peripherals, and software.
Winning top honors reflects SGI's continued commitment to its Solution Providers: Of the more than 280 vendor programs reviewed in six categories, 120 entries (87 individual companies) received the coveted five-star rating in the magazine's tenth annual survey. VARBusiness's categories include carrier services, mobile systems, peripherals, software, storage, systems, voice and data networking hardware, and wireless. The Partner Program Guide appears in the March 15, 2004, issue.
