Culture & Diversity

What's Your Culture?
Our culture is built on personal relationships and personal leadership. Our focus has always been on creating and maintaining a work environment where all employees can realize their full potential.

The idea is simple - ensure the rights and dignity of everyone. How do we do it? With a carefully defined set of policies and a culture of opportunity that's taken root because it's taken seriously.

Our Basic Principles of Diversity and Equal Opportunity

  • Everyone has the right to opportunity and advancement based on individual achievement, ability, and performance
  • We strictly follow all laws and do not discriminate in any aspect of the employment relationship on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, ancestry, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, medical condition, physical or mental disability, or veteran status
  • All managers must follow this policy of nondiscrimination in all work-related actions

Taking Responsibility
Managers are responsible for maintaining a discrimination-free workplace. All employees share the company's responsibility for mutual understanding, support, and a spirit of cooperation.

Affirmative Action Programs
U.S. affirmative action laws and programs exist to ensure fair and equal access to job opportunities for all U.S. citizens. While these laws are pertinent to businesses that contract with or sell products to the federal government, they also reflect our long-standing culture and commitment. Every year, we update our Affirmative Action programs to ensure they meet the requirements and guidelines of the U.S. Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. The Affirmative Action Plan is used to assist the company in overall efforts to achieve equal opportunity in the workplace. This plan is intended to help increase participation by women and people of color and to establish recruiting initiatives in job groups where such groups are found to be underrepresented in relation to their availability.

Reasonable Accommodations
In an attempt to make every employee's work environment comfortable, safe, and productive and to be consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, we will provide reasonable accommodations to employees who identify themselves as having a disability, medical condition, or individualized ergonomic need.

We recognize that many disabilities are not necessarily visible and therefore encourage employees to identify such needs to optimize their success. We will keep confidential any information disclosed, except as appropriate on a need-to-know basis.

SGI is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating a diverse environment through our people.
